Our collection of mollusks is the oldest in the country and the second largest cataloged one in the world. Come learn why and where we collect, as well as the natural significance of clams, snails, squids, and more.

Go behind the scenes to get just a glimpse of the collection’s 10 million specimens! Then get to work sorting and identifying shells using the same equipment and techniques as the professionals. Collection Manager Paul Callomon will share his expertise and tales of collecting from across the sea.
