Time: 4:00 PM
Location: Director's Conference Room, 3rd Floor, National Air and Space Museum
Speaker: David H. DeVorkin, Senior Curator, Department of Space History, National Air and Space Museum
David H. DeVorkin will provide an overview of the scope of his present book project and then explore in some detail one of the episodes in the empire building process. He will ask for suggestions on how to relate more efficiently the stories he wants to tell with the goal of clarifying how the Cold War command economy transformed the astronomical profession. He also will be looking for guidance on reducing the length of the manuscript from 212,000 words to 150,000 words.
