Abstract: In this paper, Connolly addresses several questions: How is it that the AAP became the group considered to represent children's "best interests" over time as it concerned pharmaceuticals? What specific roles did the organization play in societal debates concerning children's pharmaceutical use, testing, measures of efficacy, marketing, consent, and regulation?
