About this Event:
How does the Mütter Museum maintain its 35,000+ object collection? Beginning in late 2021, collections staff have been working on a comprehensive audit to review catalogue records, create new photographs, assess conservation needs, and re-house materials to improve access and storage. Join Giselle Makler and Lisa Geiger as they share highlights of their recent work, including 19th century models of skin conditions, veterinary teaching tools, and travelling pharmaceutical doctors’ bags from the early 1900s. Ongoing collections work is currently visible to the public most days as part of the “Insides Out” exhibition.

About the Speakers:
Lisa Geiger is a collections specialist with a background in urban archaeology and information science.  Giselle Makler is currently the Collections Technician for the museum, with experience in art collection management and medical illustration.
