Science! Magic! Radioactivity!

The Science History Institute invites you to experience Our Lady of Radium, a live concert event inspired by the radiant life of Marie Curie. Created and performed by goth-folk duo Charming Disaster, this musical epic explores moments in Curie’s life and research, from the ancient folklore of the mountains where her radioactive ores were mined, to the heart-pounding romance between Marie and Pierre, to the deadly consequences of a lifetime spent with radium. Along the way you’ll meet “Radium Girls,” duelists, alchemists, and more! Afterwards, join us for refreshments and a reception with the artists.

Admission is free, but registration is required. Space is limited, so RSVP today!

About the Artists
Formed in 2012 by Ellia Bisker and Jeff Morris, Charming Disaster is a goth-folk musical duo based in Brooklyn, New York. Inspired by the macabre humor of Edward Gorey and Tim Burton, the murder ballads of the Americana tradition, and the dramatic flair of the cabaret, they write songs that tell stories about death, crime, myth, magic, folklore, science, and the occult. Their new album, the Marie Curie-inspired Our Lady of Radium, is out now on vinyl, CD, and all digital platforms.
