JOIN US FOR OUR NOVEMBER FIRST SATURDAY OPEN HOUSE!
Learn about sustainable agriculture at November’s Saturday Open House! Visitors can explore native plants in Wagner's teaching garden, learn about diet and how it affects our bones, taste pawpaw butter from fruit harvested on our grounds, and much more!

Additionally, we will be joined by two special guests. Community leader and nutrition expert Arnett Woodall will be leading a workshop on healthy eating and food justice and making fresh smoothies for visitors to sample. Barbara Bluejay Michalski of the Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania, a storyteller and public speaker of Lenape culture, will also be joining us to talk about some of the edible and medicinal plants important to the Lenape people and how they were prepared. She will be sharing stories and traditional games for children and their families to participate in.

The Exhibit Hall will be open for visitors to peruse the Wagner’s collection of natural history specimens, and the yard will be open for outdoor activities. Talks will take place in the Lecture Hall and yard. And to spread seeds of sustainability, visitors can take home a free packet of pawpaw seeds (while supplies last) to grow a native fruit tree right in their back yards!

A dream that keeps growing…

In 1855, William Wagner had a dream of providing free science education to anyone who wanted to learn, regardless of background or ability to pay. Today, the Wagner offers more programs to more people than ever before! Your support helps us provide free education, not only through the museum, but through a wide range of courses, lectures, field trips, and children’s science programs. Donations also assist us in caring for the museum and library collections and in preserving our wonderful building, which was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1990. To learn more about what we do please visit our website.
