Tuesday, February 23, 2021 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm EST

Online Event

Join Dr Anna Feigenbaum as she examines the use of tear gas from the battlefields of World War I to the streets of colonial India, and from the Bogside in Northern Ireland to the Umbrella protests in Hong Kong.

Drawing from military, colonial and science archives, including the Himsworth papers from Wellcome Collection, this talk will explore the science of policing with tear gas over the past 100 years – and the politics that surrounds it.

This event will be hosted through the videoconferencing platform BlueJeans. After booking a ticket, you will receive a confirmation email with joining instructions. You will be able to comment and ask questions live online using the chat function throughout the event, and your microphone and camera will be switched off for the whole session.
