Abstract: This presentation explores the tensions between the spiritual and the secular, the local and the global, the belief in faith and the reality of finances in today’s health care system. The presentation will also delineate the interdisciplinary nature of Dr. Wall’s work in the areas of nursing, medicine, history, sociology, women, and religious studies, and it will describe her leadership in an international project to capture the history of nurses who worked in colonial nursing institutions.
